It's Cold
It has been bitterly cold the past couple of days. It’s the kind of cold that bites your nose
and ears if you don’t bundle up. This
cold has long & skinny fingers with icicle nails that can reach inside your
jacket. Those cold fingers will
sometimes gently caress you until you shiver uncontrollably. It’ll poke and prod you as
you walk to see if you can go faster. When
the cold wind seeks you out, you realize that shrinkage is not just a theory or
a silly episode from Seinfeld. No amount
of Viagra will help you when those chilly winds grab you by your gonads.Your eyes start to tear and your nose starts to run. Your shoulders hunch over as your fingers
slowly grows numb. At long last, you get
into the office building from the parking lot.
After you dump your stuff on the desk you know there’s one ugly chore
left. You quietly and solemnly go into
the washroom. You stand in front of the
urinal, reach in with your cold hands and let out a blood curdling scream.I can’t wait for the summer.
Until then, I'll have to rely on simple soups like these to warm me up. I got the pork already cut from the supermarket. All I had to do was to marinate it in soy sauce, corn starch, pepper and sesame seed oil. The broth was canned chicken stock (yep - in a pinch, I use can stock). The only other work was to defrost some shrimps and boil up some noodles.
Simply add some soy sauce, pepper and sesame seed oil if you wish afterwards.

Looks yummy!
Guess I won't complain about the sunburn I got at the beach this past weekend
Looks delicious
I just made tsuyu chicken with onions and black pepper rigatoni pasta in vodka sauce
wow...sounds complicated...
Uh la la, you made me hungry.....I shouldn't have passed by your blog right before my bed time XD
lol! have you tried taking a shower with cold water?
if you add siomai with that noodle soup, you'll be in heaven.
Your entry started out so poetic... "long and skinny fingers with icicle nails..." and then it ended up about testicles. I feel misled!
Would you believe that canned stock is a tremendous and expensive rarity here? Bouillon cubes are all oer the place, but those are pretty nasty. I think I'll make friends with a local soup noodle vendor and see if he or she will sell me fresh stock when I need it.
Your description of winter and cold took me right back to my days living up North. I could identify with all of it even now!! Yummy soups! Love them anytime.
ooh, that looks delicious! i agree, it has been quite cold lately... i can't wait for summer either!
@Renatojr3 - yeah, I tried that twice when the heater for the water in our building was out of order. That was painful. Thanks for the chocolate "mini".
Yummers!!! Food porn for a wintery day!
Cute entry! It definitely has been unbarably cold the past few days. I don't like the summer though. Too hot. I prefer the Spring or Autumn!
cold? man, it's finally warming up in sf! i can finally wake up early, not having to stay that extra half hour under my blanket.
oh heavens, I'm SOOOO with you on the winter thing!
I see you finally caved into the new layout xanga seems to be forcing on us
I love a lot of sesame oil and red pepper! ^^
How could I forget that Seinfeld "shrinkage" episode! LOL
stay warm dude!!
RYC: I really believe that is the only way it will work. Consider that I have not been in a relationship for over 15 years now. - WOW!
Thanks for the message. Yeah, I'm trying to pay more than the minimum and pay off all outstanding balances. Doesn't help that I had to replace my honda transmission for $4,000. bleh,

Ouch... sorry to hear that. The only other thing I can think of is consolidate your debts if possible with a lower interest paying line of credit.
hhmm, nothing like a hot soup in a cold weather. yeah, sesame oil always does the trick! i especially love it on my rice porridge.
yum yum pasta noodle soup
@candyppop - thanks for mini.
