Turmoil at work
I'm still around although I haven't been updating. Work has pretty much overwhelmed me. In addition to this, I'm looking for another job internally. It's never easy but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It also doesn't help when my manager and I don't have a trusting relationship anymore. The only consolation is that he's located in a different city so I don't have to see him when I'm at work.
My bf had a bbq last weekend. He prepped the food and someone else assembled the brand new bbq and did the grilling. I simply ate and played with the kids. The baby let me feed him and drank water out of a cup while I held it. At first, I didn't want to tilt the cup too much. When he didn't get any water, he looked at me, turned his palms up and shrug his shoulders as if to say "where's the water?" It was too cute.
The older kids played hide and seek. One of them tried to hide behind me as I sat on the couch. He crawled behind the cushions and hoped that his sister wouldn't notice. She did. When it was his turn to be "it, I watched him face the wall as he counted out while the others ran frantically around to hide. He would count "1, 2, 3, 4, *peek*, 5, 6, 7, *peek*, ...." I guess I did that too when I was a kid.
So moments like this go a long way to cheer me up. My bf also is getting noticed at work for his contributions and hard work so that's pretty awesome and it makes me happy.
Here's some stuff that also makes me happy - food porn:
Ribs - my sister made these.Steamed chicken, the veggies were simply steamed / boiled. I made the ginger, spring onions, salt in hot oil to accompany the chicken. The veggies had some sesame seed oil and oyster sauce. It's simple and easy.
Green tea Kit Kat. I saw it at the Chinese supermarket. It was ok.

hey, at least you are posting more often than i am! sigh... i just have not been in the mood to sit down and write lately.
green tea kit kat? sounds... um... interesting.
Good luck with that internal application!! I hope you get it and things turn out great!
I played hide and seek with John a few times (yeah, just me and John) and we both realised that we burst out laughing whenever we are the ones hiding and the other person footsteps are nearby. It's so strange and very hilarious--just like being a kid again.
The food looks great, as usual.
Who stole my kit kat? =P
I wish you the best with the transfer. Have you considered looking outside your current organization? Good work to your bf that his work is paying off! The food looks yummy, especially the ribs! This is the first time I've heard of a green tea kit kat.
gimme a break...of that kit-kat bar!
Happy to see that you post again! Kind of miss you,
I am in the middle of transfer also! Kind of stressful until the dust settles down! Wish you the best!
I love kit-kat, but never heard of a green tea one. not sure how green tea would go with chocolate, as I often thought chocolate goes better with coffee, such as moca.
Green Tea Kit Kat? That sounds like something I would try. I don't think we have a Chinese Super Market. We have Hong Kong's, My Hoa's, Super H (Korean), and Lucky Village, those are all asian supermarket chains in my area, maybe I'll try Hong Kong! Now you've given me a mission.
Good luck on the Job Searches!!!
Looks delicious. Family and togetherness is so wonderful.
Sorry to hear that work is not going so well. The relationship one has with his or her boss is so important to the overall enjoyment of work, so if the trust (and love) is gone, then it is time to move to something else.
Sounds like you got the good end of the bargain at the bbq: eat and play. Sign me up for that job!
Thanks for the food porn. The green kit kat just isn't right, though...
Well that certainly was a great end to a too busy week. I am looking around for a new job or additional part-time job. The economy is so bad down here. The extra money would be great but right now I have no stress and a really good place to work - plus my office dog who is a comfort. I am on my way to the Chinese Market here to look for the green tea kit kat.
hahaha.. kids are so cute.
^_^
I love the first two pictures.
*drool*
Gren tea kit kat?
eeeh...
I prefer my green tea in hot drink form.
= )
I wondered what happened to you. Sorry to hear that work hasn't been going so well! Hope you get that new job you're eyeing.
Glad you got to unwind with a BBQ. I'm hoping to have a BBQ this summer.
And I love white rice with the green onion/ginger/salt/oil. So delicious.
I also don't have a trusting relationship with my boss. Best wishes to your career move!!
I can imagine the baby must be very cute!!
good luck with the job hunting. hope you get to transfer internally. you're right, job hunting is never easy, you just got to have faith that everything will work out in the end.
I LAVVVVVVVVVVVVV FOOD PORN! GIMME GIMME! lol

@MRNICKLEPICKLE - you either need a cold shower or some food.
@ElusiveWords - Just food!

mmmm damn, those ribs look so yummy Matt!
A Kit Kat has never looked so appetizing!
Damn, look at those pics of food makes me hungry. Especially those shots of the food in your previous post!
Thanks for your comment btw!
Nice, I should try that steam chicken. I know how to cook that when i was younger, just been slacking.

You seems to be child friendly, I don't know how to play with kids.

RYC: I have that KitKat too! I just havent ate it yet since I have so many special flavoured KitKats I bought waiting for me in my drawer~ lol
Did you understand my Cantonese? ^^"
I just like to keep my home clean. (at least I try to be)
It's rare that every area in one's life is going great. But sometimes we forget which ones are the most important ones. And it seems you got the great food and family part down
Gotta love those kid games! kitkat bar looks yummy. And yay for your BF getting recognition for his hard labor! That will help him in the long run.
that BBQ pic is simply mouthwatering!
i've tried green tea kitkat, last year in singapore. i bought the green chocolate kitkat, made with white chocolate and green tea. i immediately took one off from the shelf as soon as i saw it (a green tea fan here) but was disappointed afterwards when i tasted it. it was way too sweet for my liking. the best desserts with green tea flavor that i have tasted are green tea jelly (taiwan), green tea ice lolipop with greentea fudge filling (japan), and green tea tiramisu (japanese restaurant in jakarta).
