I'm still around...
I've been buried under at work and don't have a lot of free time. If I don't leave a comment, don't worry - I'll get around to catching up on your entries.
Bed time soon - another long day ahead.
A couple of food pics - this is bitter melon with chicken in black bean sauce.
Steamed minced pork with salted duck eggs. The texture of the minced pork is still not smooth yet. But I'm getting close.

This doesn't help my late night hunger at all -- just thought I'd mention that. *continues snacking*
I have to agree with trendy. LOL
Sorry to hear you've been so busy at work Matt. Hopefully the load lightens soon. Your cooking looks great; can't wait to try it someday. How do you mince the meat? Do you do it by hand or use a meat grinder?
I have mastered 2 dishes so far...in the past 4 months
Something I am proud to put on table...
I am telling you this because aside from the boyfriend, you probably rank #2 on my cooking inspiration
So thanks, I think... (I don't have to do dishes when I cook! yay~~~!)
I have had the chicken before and it is yummy. For some reason I have avoided trying to make the pork dish. I guess I need find sometime to try it. Slow down and make sure you take time to breath.
Hope you get a chance to rest up this weekend Mattie!! And why are you torturing me with yummy food at 7:30AM. Me want that pork dish even though I don't eat pork!!!
i know what you mean; this is a busy time of the year for a lot of us i think! good luck with all that you've got going on, and be sure to take a break sometime, even if it's just a short one!
Oh yum...my favorites...do u use cornstarch for the meat?
These are all my favourite home cooked meals, back in Hong Kong though. *drool*
@trendyhedonism - judging from that picture, midnight snacks don't seem to have an effect on you.
@CareyGLY - munch munch....
@christao408 - my mom used to do it by hand. I've tried that but it takes a long time. Sometimes I just ask the butcher to grind the meat or I just buy ground pork.
@Wangium - how do I get to be #1?
@Fatcat723 - yeah, I try not to work too late.
@brooklyn2028 - because you torture me with all those food pictures in your blog.
@kunhuo42 - I hope to get some quiet time around Xmas.
@snowjunky8 - yes, I also use some egg white to tenderize the meat.
@curry69curry - I've been trying to perfect that minced pork dish for some time now. It's one of my favorites.
Thanks, and nice to see that you've been feeding your whole city with great food! Salted duck eggs is something I haven't tried yet. Btw, I'm tearing my hair out trying to figure out which city you're in.
@ABloggingHorse - I'm in Toronto.
When you guilt me into cooking more frequently by telling me I am making you cook all the time
@ElusiveWords - Haha, never thought of it that way.
Nice dishes. Just propping in, hope you dont mind. I esp like the bittermellon and chicken dish, one of my favorites =)
I had bitter melon with lamb and tomatoes last night. I love the taste of the two.
