More food...
I am determined to keep at least one new year's resolution this year. I've never been good at keeping any of them - except for maybe a few months. So this year, my resolution is just to eat as much as possible.
Cupcakes - I didn't try these. I think they are from The Cupcake Shoppe.
Eggettes from Chinatown. So good...
I think this is called Carmelita Cakelet
(chocolate sponge & caramel mousse with toasted almond meringue
and drizzled with caramel. It's a small cake - 3 1/2 x 5 1/2. It's from one of the stores in my 'hood - Dufflet .The only thing that is remotely healthy. A pasta salad with broccolli, poached chicken breast,
poached shrimps, scallions and red peppers. I drizzled a simple olive oil, lemon juice and mustard dressing
over it along with a bit of Parmesan cheese.

@ElusiveWords - Not really....*sad*
New layout eh? COOL!
Eat as much as possible? For sure a unique NY resolution! =P
I love eggettes =D
@zozoyork - I'm having trouble finding a theme that is wide. I like this color but medium sized pictures don't fit. I'm going to keep looking.
@ElusiveWords - That's why i dunt wanna use theme at all =P
@ElusiveWords - Matt, I have complete confidence that at this resolution, you will be an astounding success. Two hundred kilos later, I'll regret having supported you so wholeheartedly.
OMG EGGETTES! I never knew what they were called, but I miss them so much. Esp when they put peanut butter inside. Ahhh
That pasta looks awesome!
those look amazing!! and i love the eggette..i used to make it at home because i have the eggette press machine.. and I would add in scoops of ice cream, some fresh cut strawberries, whipped cream, sprinkles, cinnamon, sliced bananas, wild berries, and lightly drizzle some chocolate sauce over top to finish it.. it's amazzzzinnggg..
wow, everything looks great! your food pics are going to make me also fulfill your new year's resolution to eat more, they always make me hungry =P
@christao408 - hahaha - I'll try not to be a contestant on shows like The Biggest Loser.
@dynamiqvision - they are also called egg waffles and egg puffs. I've seen a different version (individual ones filled with something sweet - lotus or red bean?). I haven't seen peanut butter. I'm sure if you move to Vancouver, you'll be able to get your egg waffles daily.
@SeanYee - thanks!
@MadaMadaDan3 - omg - you go all out (I won't expect anything less from you on food).
@kunhuo42 - yes... come with me to the dark side. Just put away your running shoes.... hahaha.
That salad makes me very hungry. Yum,
The Eggettes,, i've never heard of them but they
do look interesting indeed,, are they sweet?
be well, *~matthew~*
haha! great resolution!
I want a cupcake and an eggette. Ive never had(or heard) of an eggette, but they look kinda good!
Are you making it yourself?
I think I just don't bother making new year resolution...
Just do whatever I want to do anytime, there shouldn't be an annual limitation to resolutions
@Platypus333 - uhm.. nope. I don't have a clue how to make them nor do i have the equipment. Besides, it's 1 for $3 or 2 for $5. (yeah... I'm cheap)
@bleuzeus - they are also called egg waffles or egg puffs http://www.hklightbox.com/tag/egg-waffles
It has a slightly sweet taste.
@Platypus333 - they are a bit sweet, little crispy on the outside, soft and puffy inside.
i know cupcakes and yes, those are from the Shoppe Matt
You always eat good food!
@ALTRUISTICDREAMER - I skipped the cupcakes and the cake. I did have those egg waffles and the pasta salad.
Hehe, I can spot a Dufflets cake a mile away!!
i loooooove cupcakes! actually, i love everything on this entry!
@brooklyn2028 - that place can get so busy on holidays, sometimes there are line ups out the door!
@ABSOLUTmichael - hahaha - glad you got some virtual calories.
it's a good resolution, Happy New Year....
the eggette I had on the roadside in HKG this Wed, tasted abit different than those I had in Vancouver.....
@agmhkg - Happy New Year to you too! I guess everyone has their own way of making them. Was it better than Vancouver's or just different?
@ElusiveWords - maybe the egg they use, those I had in Vancouver have less taste of egg.
I LOVE eggettes!
@tomobe - yeah - it's always interesting watching them being made. I can smell it right now. Ahh...
