I Want this Penthouse Apartment
I've found my dream condo in the Big Apple. It's the triplex at the top of the building (the clock tower). It overlooks the Brooklyn Bridge. There are over 6,000 sq ft of living space, a beautiful patio, high ceilings (sigh), tall windows (ahh...) and the windows include those 4 clocks. As my mom used to say, "Go to bed early tonight. So you can start dreaming about it sooner." I have a funny feeling Spacerboi or TheLatinObserver will beat me to the purchase though.
So help me beat them to the purchase. I'm about $25 million dollars short. Donations humbly accepted.

Here's the full story from the New York Times site: click here .
You can find more pictures here: click hereAgain - donations are accepted. I have no pride.

Damnnnn that's nice. I think I might be able to donate at most .0000001% of the total cost haha
wow that's gorgeous!!!
"photo credit: Franco" haha
I love the interior~
the exterior is very nice too! ^^"
Beautiful! Tell you what, once you buy it I'll come and cook you dinner.
I wonder how many people rely on those clocks everyday....I'd purposely set them 1 or 2 hours back
@Roadlesstaken - that's one step closer!
@onmovement - yeah, it is gorgeous. Hmm... if I recall, your condo has pretty good views too!
@tomatoboi - we have the same taste!
@christao408 - hahaha... you're a tough negotiator!
@caihwei - or set each one a different time - lol.
@ElusiveWords - yeah I thought about that...if you set them all to a different time, it would be self-discrediting. Gata keep it consistent if you wana try to fool people
It's a pretty interesting apartment. It's owned by the Walentas (sp) family which owns maybe half of the real estate in DUMBO where this dream pad is located.
lol! can i visit after you purchase it? the clock windows looked like peter pan coming for the night and well, play with his shadow.
@ElusiveWords - hehe perhaps but it certainly isn't as big as this place!
How about pooling all of the Xanga friends money and convert the purchase as a time share?
Wow! 6000 sq ft? That's big!
Beautiful! I really like the bath space.
Matt, if I wasn't buying that coral reef island near Maldives; I could have donated. Alas!
haha
ohohoh, set every clock at a different time! or make one of them go backwards. confusion is the spice of life!
wow, what a place to live! it must be beautiful up there, high above the hustle and bustle of city life. too bad i'm afraid of heights, so i wouldn't appreciate the patio!
This apartment, judging by the first picture, seemed SUPERBLY pretentious. But the glass elevator in the center and the "window-clocks" and the amount of light in the place won me over. Let's get on that.
That is gorgeous! I love the clock windows. The shadows they make on the floor are so cool!
Hm... maybe if you walk out on the balcony, you will see Spiderman crouching next to the clock or something.. =P Afterall, he is supposed to be in New York =P
Well, I only want the penthouse and not the entire building. It does look like a beautiful space for a beautiful apartment. Now there is this penthouse on the beach here for less than that but it does not have clocks.
That is one heck of a penthouse. Are you telling me the " modest income " from your stock market investments is not going to get you into that place?? I am with Chris. You get that apartment, and while Chris cooks, I will help him in the kitchen and do your laundry. I don't separate the whites from the colored clothes though!
@TheLatinObserver - yeah, according to the article, they have a unit in that building.
@Renatojr3 - of course you can. You can even sing to your heart's content from the balcony!
@curry69curry - I may have to befriend everyone in Xanga to come up with that kinda dough.
@mmmagination - yeah.. drool.
@Dezinerdreams - darn, I should have posted this sooner!
@secade - hahaha.... I don't want to piss off people.
@kunhuo42 - I probably won't stray too close to the edge of the patio either. I have the same fear of heights.
@upandoutward - I'm glad it won you over... donations?
@TheCheshireGrins - yeah, I could go crazy taking pictures of the shadows.
@ZenPaper - and Batman too! (no wait - that's Gotham city)...
@Fatcat723 - the beach penthouse will be my winter retreat!
@ZSA_MD - LOL... get thee to the kitchen and stay away from my laundry! hahaha
@ElusiveWords - but that's what rich people are supposed to do!
Xanga sleepover! Once we help you buy it. ; )
Gorgeous Condo. I'd feel bad though to get it, because think of all the mouths you can feed with 25 million dollars! lol
And to think I am bothered by the click of my alarm clock.. Can you imagine hearing the seconds click on a clock of that size.. and four of them? Wow,, LOL
Tis a beautiful place for sure.... love the photo with the sun shining through.
May all your dreams be so grand and glorious.
be well *~matthew~*
Darn, that's a nice pad. Love that clock. You gonna throw a big Xanga party if we all help you buy it?
@brooklyn2028 - you bet! I'll send you details on where to make that huge donation!
@youngvan - lol... there's lots of room!
@Rm2046 - well.... I guess you're right. Although if I had that kind of money, I hope I'll remember to donate more to charities.
@bleuzeus - hahaha - I think the bedrooms are upstairs so you won't be able to hear the clocks (electronic) or even see them. Can you imagine staring at that and trying to sleep?
yeah, it's an alright place to do my homework....
it'll be nice as ONE of my houses, i guess.
i'd like a real garden, though - with grass... i love a lawn.
ahh, nice post, matt..now you've got me day dreaming....
Did you win?
@Wangium - grrr....
