What's Up Doc?
I took my PC in over the weekend to get it diagnosed. I wasn't that impressed though with the service area. I hope they won't rip me off. As we were getting ready to leave, I told my bf I just wanted to say goodbye to my PC. It's odd that I have these emotional attachments to things. With my old car, I washed and waxed it before I drove it to the dealer to trade it in. I even talked to it and thanked it for the years of yeoman service. Ok ok... I'm a bit different. I don't do the same thing with any of the PCs or laptops from work. They're just machines.
This is strange sensation - staring at the weblog entry screen and figuring out what to write. Oh yeah, now I remember.
Some of you have followed me from my old blog (thank you
). When I started blogging, I subscribed to blogs written by folks who were like me - gay. Almost all were Asian. At that time, most of my subscribers were the same. This slowly changed over time. Little by little, I started to subscribe to some guys and gals who were straight. I always wondered if they would find it a bit odd (especially the guys) but no one objected. Gradually other readers found me and my subscribers became a bit more diversified. But I would guess 80% of my subscribers at that time were gay or bi.
With this blog, my subscribers and my subscriptions are a lot more diversified. I haven't really done a check and it doesn't really matter to me anymore. I also don't really keep track of everyone except for the regulars. I have some subscribers that seem to check me out and then drop off after awhile. Some mostly read and don't comment. I have no issues with them. I just don't get a chance to know them. I don't subscribe to all my subscribers either (sorry...). Of course, not all the folks I subscribe to subscribe to me either.
A few months ago, I wanted to tell some of my newer subscribers "You folks know I'm gay right?" I'm sure most of you will say "Yeah so?" While some of you might go "Really?" So what does that mean? So what would a gay guy like me write about?
a) mushy stuff like my relationship with my dad and my bf
b) cars, cameras (with big zoom lenses) and hopefully my new computer
c) food, glorious food, mmm....
d) corny stuff that I do with my bf
e) some of my observations about life and well, observations
f) kidsOk I've think I've given full disclosure now and you've been warned. Oh, one small thing. From time to time, I might write something hot and steamy. But I'll warn you folks ahead of time. Just don't report me to the Xanga cops.

I hope you don't end up like Edison Chen!!
@CareyGLY - uhm, thanks - now you're making me very nervous. I may have to hide in Hotel Careyfornia. I hear it's very discreet over there.
You're GAY! Hahaha...
I have pretty much decided that my paper for school with be on the LGBT community and use of social networking as a support mechanism for coming out and for informational purposes. Would be interesting to do a survey of all the gay people I know on Xanga...

@CareyGLY - lol... turndown service at 4AM? I would be sound asleep by that time! I'm sure there are home cooked meals too?
@ElusiveWords - Only if you're cooking! And sleep is not an option at The H.C.!!!
I loved your posts the first time I read them. Does anyone still care whether you are gay or not?? Keep writing buddy, I will keep reading.
Yeah, just keep writing and I wonder if anyone still mind if you're or not? We all enjoyed Matt's column. LOL
Good site ~^^
I guess it has been sometime since I started reading your posts. I always find them interesting and thought provoking. I think a mixed group of readers makes comments more interesting.
Most people don't care about sexual orientation anymore nowadays I hope!
Anything you write is worth reading!
@brooklyn2028 - sounds like an interesting paper- i used online communities (at the begining, not strictly GLBT) to help me, as I grew up in a heavily conservative area with religious parents, and it's helped a LOT. Sometimes I wonder, though, how it's affected me since then.
Xanga Police? I hope those don't exist. I've never written anything terribly 'steamy' on my blog, but a recent post about going commando may be deemed inappropriate.
Oh, I get attached to inanimate objects too. I don't really get why. All of my cars have had nicknames and I was actually really sad the day that my sister crashed the first car that I drove (it had been passed down to her after my parents got me a new car). Just another one of my quirks I guess....
You've mentioned this a few times before over the years. I really don't think anyone who is going to read your blog more than once or twice will give a whit one way or another about you being gay. Especially since that "hot and steamy" stuff never seems to appear. False advertising! =(
Well, I read your blog since looonnnngg time ago. You are a good writer, very vivid and entertaining. Observant with small details. I Just wonder how you look like after years of reading your blog. lol.
Oh my God ... you're gay!!!! Wait ... I'm gay as well! A little bit of everything in the blog (in moderation) is good.
@ZSA_MD - I guess I'm still a bit insecure about that. Thank you for reading my sometimes crazy ramblings.
@CurryPuffy - I guess after reading all these comments, no one really minds. So that's good.
@comingss - thank you.
@Fatcat723 - yes, we go waaayyy back (hahaha). I agree, the mixed group of readers do make the comments more interesting. It has certainly broaden my horizon a bit more.
@yang1815 - I will be writing about how to clean a toilet next - hahahaha... or the demise of the Cornhuskers. (j/k!!!)
@secade - hahaha - nope, that was tame and I enjoyed reading it. For some reason, I always thought I had subscribed to you. I feel kinda sheepish finding out today that I didn't. Anyways, I'm fixed it.
@TheCheshireGrins - I would be sad too if that happened to my car.
@christao408 - you know, those aren't easy to write. I tried a few times but keep blushing. (yeah right). I should send you something I wrote in my old blog but will have to wait until my PC is recovered.
@vsan79 - I look like Confucius (w/o the beard and a lot less wise). I'm glad you've stuck with me. Hope things continue to shine bright for you.
@TheLatinObserver - ok ok... I guess my insecurities got the best of me. hahahaha... this is what happens when you just write what's on your mind without editing or saving it for another day.
@secade - Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I know a lot of cases about people who grew up in super religious families and had a tough time coming out. If I do a survey, do you mind if I contact you?
@ElusiveWords - If your intention was to shoot an arrow through my heart... bulls-eye!
Matt, is your old blog still visable? I don't think I've had the pleasure of reading your old posts.
Gay, Str8, Asian, Black, Purple, doesn't matter to me,, you're a entertaining writer with an interesting view on life. That's why I read.
Keep up the good work mate
*~matthew~*
@bleuzeus - no, my old blog isn't around anymore. My views on life may be entertaining to some and probably a bit weird to others. But I'm glad you're reading it. hahaha....
@ElusiveWords - Yay, thanks for subscribing
ha, ha... lol... you just cracked me up! i doubt i'll ever read any of those "steamy" stories you bragged about. don't think your bf would ever approved
