Well, I'm traveling on business this week. A week of living out of a hotel room and sleeping in strange bed. At least someone cleans the room every day. The hotel I'm staying is is kinda old. There's only one elevator in my wing which is kinda weird. I'm getting used to this part of town now. It's a short walk to the city's small Chinatown and there are bank machines, restaurants, coffee shops, a drug store and variety stores that are also within walking distance.
It's still pretty busy at work as the end of the year is getting close. I stayed up last night doing work trying to catch up. It's tough when the bed is calling out for you and it's only a few feet away from my desk. I can tell you this corporate whore is well used and very tired. I just feel pulled in so many different directions. At a call the other week, I was talking to someone who still worked a couple of hours a day while fighting off pneumonia. Last night, I was chatting with someone late in the evening. We were both trying to finish off something for a customer. Maybe folks like Sion are the smart ones. Maybe the long hours are worth it if you work for yourself.
To top it off, the cab driver this morning was coughing all the way. Gross.... I hope I don't pick up any bugs. I'm not doing anywork tonight. My brain has stopped working. If you peer inside, it's just reciting the alphabet. "A is for apple, B is for bee, C is for Cat..." That's the level of brain power I have right now.
It's gonna be Christmas soon. Bah Humbug.

That's about my brain power towards the end of my 7-9:30pm class X_X
The road warrior makes it back! Get a well deserved good night's sleep!
hope u have a chance to catch some sleep tonight!
Reciting the alphabets, or counting sheep, I suppose. Have a good trip home!
one good thing about staying at a hotel....you are right, someone will make the room for you..hahahhaha
You are funny, Matt. I am still laughing at how you described your current level of mental activity.
Maybe we should take up a collection here on Xanga and send you on holiday for a few weeks.

this is going to be my brain by the end of this week, even more so by the time thanksgiving rolls around lol
Justin
You do need a vacation! Down here we are getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Forget the Bah Humbug, I know you don't mean it.
i've been working late nights too. sigh... i think we both need a vacation! you don't get some time off for christmas? i think that's my big motivation right now, make it to christmas break hahaha.
Good luck with your travels and stay healthy:)
Something I always found funny is that a lot of Canadian-born-Asians that I know seem to get annoyed when the cities they're visiting have small Chinatowns... the entire region of the countrry I live in doesn't have anything even close to a Chinatown, and the first that I'd ever been to was in TO. You probably wouldn't want to visit the Midwest, lol.
Seems like a lot of people are busy throughout this time of the year.
I hope you stay healthy unlike the rest of us.
Get some rest, sometimes busy bees don't get to rest.
Feel better tomorrow =)
yeah, christmas is coming. so what? i have to work on the 25th anyways...
I've always thought B was for Boy
O boy yeah rest up and re-energize!
@Roadlesstaken - night classes.... oh fun. It must a be a struggle to stay focused.
@TheLatinObserver - I slept well last night despite sleeping in a strange bed. I'm no road warrior though, it's just 2 or 3 trips a year (max!).
@stevew918 - I had a good night's sleep. Honestly, I don't know how folks like you can handle the constant travel.
@CurryPuffy - I'm looking forward to the trip home. It'll be good to get back.
@agmhkg - yeah, I come back and even the toilet is sparkling clean, the bed is made. I wish I could afford a maid. hahahaha
@christao408 - I want to go to the same place you and Tawn went to in Phuket.
@CareyGLY - it's not that bad for me, I'm no road warrior, road kill perhaps?
@ehs_swimmer2007 - I hope you have enough mental stamina to finish the alphabet.
@Fatcat723 - I'm a curmudgeon... getting more and more cynical every year.
@kunhuo42 - yeah - just need to make it to Christmas.
@secade - I guess living in Toronto, I'm spoiled by the size and breadth of our Chinatowns and Asian malls. I'll try to stay healthy.
@ALTRUISTICDREAMER - thank you, I hope you get some rest too.
@rudyhou - good golly... what industry are you in?
@tomatoboi - you know what? I was stumped and couldn't remember it. I even Googled it but maybe I didn't search on the right phrase. hahahaha
@yang1815 - rest is a four letter word. Hmm... how come you're blogging while on vacation? hahaha...
@ElusiveWords - You and your boyfriend really should come for a visit. We'll take good care of you.
@ElusiveWords - hopefully! i might get a little jumbled around "f", "u", and "p" for projects
Justin
@ElusiveWords - My life's boring. There's more to blog when I'm on vacation!
lol that used to be me in college. I was awake for 30 hours, and had to take a brief nap once during a final. haha. All those hours of hard work are worth it though, I feel
Ahhh @ bugs. I worry at work when someone sneezes and then I need to give him change.
Hope the rest of your trip goes well!
@Rm2046 - 30 hours! If I took a nap during the finals, I'd probably sleep right through it.
@mmmagination - yeah, it's awkward handing out change, you don't want to touch the guy's hands. I guess if he was cute, you could "accidentally" make contact.
@TheCheshireGrins - so far so good!
The upcoming holiday (Christmas) always makes me a little anxious..
and not in a positive holiday spirit kind of anxious.... The only part
I truly look forward to is having my family get together and hang out.
The buying of gifts, the expectations,, all get me stressed...LOL
Best wishes with your week out of town..
*~matthew~*
just a small company that's in the retail business selling industrial cutting tools. plus, i'm living in a muslim country so christmas is not exactly the must-have holiday of the year.
Yikes, I hope you are well rewarded for your efforts, Matt. Somehow I don't think you care so much about money anymore. Hopefully this all is fate and leads to something better in the near future
I just need to believe that is so because I'm just starting out on my career and your posts can really scare me :s
@stepaside_loser - Don't be scared about work. You'll pick up a lot of skills, tools and friends to help you along the way. I support a lot of our front line workers so a lot of my schedule and workload depends on them. I wasn't an academic kind of guy nor am I a techie. But I knew when I started out I could outwork a lot of folks and I was ambitious too.
@ElusiveWords - I'm not sure if I'm a good worker, but from past experience I know I put in a lot of effort into doing things properly, when many others take short cuts. Maybe that's what I can bring to the 'table'. Thanks for your encouragement.
