  • growl... grrr... snarl... hiss...

    I just want to the world to stop for awhile.  It's moving too fast for me.  Maybe it's going just right for some of you or not fast enough.  I just want it to stop.  Life is a blur.  The weeks and years are going by too fast.  I stumble from day to day, week to week and year to year.  I see fleeting images of  roses but am unable to stop and smell them.

    Live life for today!  Sieze the moment!  You only live once!  Yeah right... sometimes life just gets in the way of living.

    I think I'm going to find my dictionary and cross out the word "happiness".  It doesn't exist.  Boo.

    Surprised?  Never seen this side of me?  Growl.

    ed note:  Matt is possessed by some emo adolescent.  The phase will soon pass.

  • We're going to have to exorcise you.  Or exercise you.  Whichever, since emo teenagers tend to not take well to either.

    Let me tell you, the last four years blew by in a blur.  It wasn't until a few days ago that I realized four years had passed.

  • @chow@ireallylikefood - I could use a lot more exercise to exorcise these inner demons.  The emo teen now wants me to put on eye shadow and look goth.

  • this year went by way too fast for me also.

  • awe, you'd look cute all gothed out...then you can come visit me in Salem...you'll fit right in with the rest of them. Besides, you need the R&R. Seriously, sorry you feel so stressed and emotional. Sometimes we do need to slow down and reconnect. Usually  its ourselves we need to reconnect with.

  • I demand that the editor make more frequent appearances...  I get a good laugh every time.

  • @stevew918 - yeah, you had a busy and eventful year.

    @macphoto - thanks, I do need to reconnect with myself.

    @Dezinerdreams - the editor is very annoying and always makes fun of me.

  • My! My! Time Flies!

  • Yeah it's going too fast...

  • When was it that you had a few days of vacation Mattie?? It's about time that you did. Don't get yourself burnt out.

    Come visit me.

  • time goes by faster and faster as we get older.  I don't like it either.

  • Perhaps you should watch this show from the 90's(?)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2UkZzdyD0A

  • I am not sure it's the same way you were talking about, but I do feel time is moving too fast and I am missing a lot of things in life.

    I am missing a lot of opportunities to spend time with my cousins and now they are all grown up.  Not sure how long we could still be together now that everyone's moving in their own direction in life.

  • The world is moving to fast for me too.  I want it to slow way down to allow me to enjoy the moments a bit longer.

  • There are times I scream into my pillow so as not to bother the neighbors. I think that happens most frequently when I have days like you are having. Screaming helps.

  • You're so emo today. Go on a walk -- it really slows time down.

  • it's going way too slowly for me...isn't time just endlessly fascinating? lol

  • I know how you feel. Maybe some medical marijuana will be useful in slowing things down? hahah jk

  • I think, i work too much, when i am not working i feel time flies a lot slower. I get things done, and I can enjoy every minutes of it.

  • Awww poor Mattie!  Hope you get some due rest and relaxation during the holidays!

  • i feel like time flies by too...  i don't know when i'll have the time to get anything done.  but i still try to take some time out for myself, just to sit and relax and take a break.  that's important for my health and my productivity so i don't burn out.  hopefully you find some time to catch your breath!

  • yeah, i know that we are responsible for our own happiness but life DOES get in the way all the time.  all we can do is have patience and stay positive.  try to steal moments once in a while to do things that make you happy, e.g. long weekends get-a-ways or as simple as finding a quite spot to be alone and with no distractions.  in case you're wondering, nope, screaming doesn't help.  it just annoys the hell out of others and it'll give you sore throat.  by the way, hope the phase has passed.  you're scaring us.  hugs.

  • Actually, Matt, I've seen this side of you A LOT. I can feel it in your posts. You have this passive angry side about your work.

    Come on, Matt, quit it. Start a lower paid job and be a writer ;)

    I am dead serious!

  • @secade - @yang1815 - going, going, gone!  It's so fleeting.

    @ZSA_MD - it's been awhile since a vacation.  I need to take my bf somewhere nice and warm.

    @Roadlesstaken - sigh... live for the present, so many things are pulling me in different directions.

    @alchemystfury - hmm... I'm not familiar with that one.  But then again, I don't watch a lot of TV.

    @Wangium - I just want everything to slow down.  The pressures on all front is getting to me.

    @stixandstonz2009 - I agree!  Thanks for dropping by.

    @Fatcat723 - my neighbors upstairs, downstairs and beside me will likely call the cops!

    @upandoutward - I will do that, thank you.

    @onmovement - argh... not fascinating at all.

    @Rm2046 - hahaha... you're so silly.

    @vsan79 - finding time for myself the toughest part.

    @brooklyn2028 - I hope so too...thanks.

    @kunhuo42 - I need to carve out some time for myself.

    @mmmagination - thanks Benson.

    @rudyhou - I try to count my blessings, sometimes I'm just not in the mood to appreciate them I guess.  Don't be scared.  I normally don't write about these things.  Maybe I should instead of self censoring some entries.

    @stepaside_loser - that's my fantasy job.

  • no, no need for censoring your own blog lah.  that's not what a true xangan would do.  forget what i said.  just keep on writing the way your heart pleases.

  • @ElusiveWords - i know, aye, 'fantasy'. i have a fantasy job too, but i am too scared to drop my current route and go to it.

  • @ElusiveWords - It was actually one of my fav shows growing up.  You should watch some episodes online.  Who would have thought a show about a girl who can stop time with a dad from another planet would have been such a hit

  • Hi Matt,
     I hope your mood has blossomed into something wonderful.
    Time has a way of stealing from us, friends family and opportunities
    of enjoying both. I feel like that a lot, specially lately. I need to
    manage my own time better. Doing things that balance my life.
    It's just to damned short.
    Peace  *~matthew~*

  • @bleuzeus - sigh, it hasn't gotten worse but it hasn't gotten better.
