Some tidbits...
1. My bf's youngest nephew is starting to show a lot of independence. While he clings to mom during bedtime, he's asserting (some would say over asserting) his personality over his older brother and sister. It's interesting watching his assertiveness coming out at such an early age. It's small things like not being wanted to be carried and putting on his own shoes and hat. Anyways... he doesn't want to play with me that much. Last night he "shot" me with his toy gun... many times. But instead of saying "bang", he just goes "phoot...phoot" which is accompanied by a shower of saliva. He sees me cringing and hiding behind my fleece jacket. Ah... that must be a sign of the enemy weakening which causes him to go in for the kill. But at the end of the night, he did give me a hug.
2. Despite the rather chilly windy weather, I saw someone walking outdoors in shorts and tshirt, carrying shopping bags. I had to do a double take and he didn't seem to have a care in the world. I also saw a woman walking outdoors with slippers. She seemed to be properly dressed with other winter clothing, gloves, scarf and hat.
3. I saw this good looking Asian guy at the mall. He was standing by himself in the store with a purse over his shoulder. Of course I had to take a closer look. That's when his gf (sans purse) came over with shopping bags for him to hold. He dutifully did that and continued to be the purse holder. I see this quite a bit nowadays. Sometimes there's no shopping involved at all. But he's just holding on to her purse. I think Asian women do this to "train" their future husbands. I'll test and see if my bf wants to hold my knapsack.
4. I have this fetish for those steam cleaning tools on the shopping channel. You must have noticed them. Floors, sinks, counters, ovens and even toilets are blasted clean with pure steam and not corrosive chemicals. I want to get them all and blast my place clean. I also want that friggin expensive Dyson vacuum cleaner too. All that dirt - poof, gone! When I'm done cleaning, I just have to steam all my clothes instead of ironing them. I can probably even steam my food with it too.
Anyways.... back to my Sunday chores.

Maybe you can try out the Dyson "Ball" vacuum cleaner. The large rotating ball looks interesting and will certainly makes vacuuming the house a more interesting chore. Except that it weighs ten tons! LOL. Your bf's nephew is so cute!
LOL @ steaming your food, making your bf hold your knapsack and phoot phoot with saliva. Thanks for the smile!
lol this entry oddly cheered me up, especially with the steaming thing. I wish I had one of those ridiculous stains that they always show so I could try it on!
1. He must be holding a phaser
3. My boyfriend would have an incredulous reaction when I ask him to hold something, but he's perfectly fine with me holding everything.
@CurryPuffy - lol... that was the one that caught my eye! Yah, he's still pretty cute.
@CareyGLY - glad it made you smile.
@redcrazy - I could use that steamer on my stove right now.
@Wangium - lol at your #2!
I don't know what it is with some Canadians. The snow doesn't deter them from wearing summer gear. Simply crazy!!!
@brooklyn2028 - yeah... even runners bundle up! hee hee...
Matt, this is so cute and funny! I smiled throughout! Well, except for the shorts story part.
@Dezinerdreams - ed note: I told Matt not to bother with that shorts story but he wouldn't listen.
You were indeed shot with a phaser! I love these little stories!!!
Very cute Matt. You think you can handle that Vacuum cleaner?? Weighs a lot. The steamer I could go for. Not sure I want the food to be steamed though. ha ha ha.
Those cleaning gadgets draw me in as well. I only wonder how well they work.
1. kids are cute only b4 they go to school...hahahaha after that they change a lot...
4....well well well most of the Asian girls love their handbags being held by the BFs...a show off to other single female out there?
Dyson is awesome!
@Fatcat723 - it was a very wet phaser.
@ZSA_MD - it does weigh a lot, maybe I can get a workout at the same time.
@TheCheshireGrins - same here... from the informercials, they seem to perform miracles!
@agmhkg - ahh... your theory about showing off their boys and marking them as "TAKEN" or "HE'S MINE" might be true.
@yang1815 - oh yeah? They are expensive though. Gee... I'm gonna have to sneak into your house and see what other gadgets and toys you have.
Regarding #3 - that observation is super-common among younger straight couples here in Bangkok. Not just while waiting outside shops but the boyfriends will carry these big purses for their girlfriends, much in the same way that a servant would carry your things for you. It drives Tawn crazy because he thinks the rule for girls should be: "If you can't carry it, you shouldn't own it."
@christao408 - is it chivalry? I think it means, hands off girls... he's taken!
@ElusiveWords - Haha you silly I don't have anything. My college roommate used to work at a home furnishing/appliance store so I used his employee discount to get the vacuum. It's so worth it. Have you checked out the new ball yet? That looks cool.
2) I shovel snow topless at -18C
3) I see this a lot also. I think it's a nice thing for guys to do, for sure; but at the same time I don't think that's cool that girls "use" their boyfriends in that way. We are not shopping tools.
4) They Dyson vacuums are wonderful. I also have been using the steam cleaners for years
@yang1815 - I'm about to pay my Visa bill so I'm not going to be looking at anything for the time being.
@arenadi - which steam cleaner would you recommend?
@ElusiveWords - Look, but don't touch.
Guys with purses/bags. I kinda want one next year because putting stuff in my pant pockets ain't working anymore.
A child that willingly hugs you,,, there's nothing like it.
I miss that..... a lot. Most of my nephews and nieces are
having their own children. I don't see them much.
My own fault really, so I can't complain.
*~matthew~*
@mmmagination - maybe a messenger bag or knapsack?
@bleuzeus - hopefully your you'll be able to carve out some time in your schedule to visit them. Yeah, I like those hugs (although he sometimes includes a sloppy wet kiss too).
you know, i think it only applies to the asians where the boyfriends would hold the bag of their girlfriends while they are out shopping. i have never seen a single caucasian who does that.
LMAO...I love reading your posts Matt. God you make me laugh. I have a steam floor cleaner...wanna borrow it?
#4. I got a standup steam cleaner with pads from the local thrift store. Since I have all hardwood/tile/vinyl floor surfaces, I thought it would work and I wouldn't have to spend money to find out (about $4).
It worked well. In fact, tomorrow I have a task to steam clean all the floor surfaces to prepare for holiday visitors. As for the other surfaces, they get the regular treatment.
@macphoto - you may need to get help if you have the same sense of humor as I do.
@Ricardo98 - interesting, I always thought you shouldn't use the steam cleaner on hardwood floors. Maybe it's just certain types of hardwood floors or finish.
