I Hate Colds...
Last week I was surrounded by folks who were coughing all the time. This week I'll hunt them down one by one. The sneezing ninja will strike when they least expect it. Revenge will be sweet. When they aren't looking, I'll be sneezing and coughing on their laptops, blackberries and phones. I'll even sneeze on their precious little bottles of hand sanitizers.
I haven't shaved since Friday. My bf saw me the another week like this too. "No wonder people mistake you for being homeless!" I can't grow a beard or goatee... so it just looks "scruffy".
Do you remember what it was like to be sick when you were a child? My mom always made us separate dinners (something soft and easy to digest). I ate separately - it was kinda nice. We always wanted the food that the sick sibling was having. Mom would just roll her eyes. But when we were grown up, she also told us she felt the same way about too when she was a kid. She always thought the food for the sick sibling just looked better.

I hate colds myself. I'm still trying to get over what remains of mine. Revenge may be sweet but the same may fall back onto you another time..haha.
Glad I have not had any cold for years, cross my fingers and need to stay away from you for a few days, lol. By the way, your bf was giving you a complement for looking like a homeless. The latest fad is to dress and look like homeless. Last week, a homeless guy in China made top international news by being so good looking. Too bad he did not have a running nose, otherwise he would have looked like you, hehe. See short-cuts below and you may not want to shave yet, smile.

I just recovered from a nasty cold, the worst part is the coughing, seems like it never ends! My mom usually cooked congee for the sick ones in the family.
@stevew918 - I read that too, Steve. It was hilarious, but I could not believe he left his two kids at home and wander around!
Yeah I can't grow facial hair either haha.
It was a lot of chicken soup and 粥.
@zionlover - hmm.... *raises eyebrows*, I may have to simply inflict pain then.
@stevew918 - too late... my germs are in my blog! I definitely don't look like him. That's an odd story - it made news around the world (I can't read Chinese). How could he leave his family behind?
@CurryPuffy - the coughing just started. Ugh...
@yang1815 - I had to use one of those online translating sites... congee! I love congee!!!!
@ElusiveWords - O haha ooops sorry forgot you can't read!
Ugh, feel better. Eat lots of good food and drink lots of tea!
Aw...scruffy...you always want what you can't have?
What did she make?
I'm still sick myself. The stuff coming out of my sinuses is starting to look really nasty.
I'm not even sure how / who I caught it from too.
I've been eating all sorts of crazy food for the last few days because of my sickness. It's only now when I let myself eat massive amounts of McDonalds hehe.
@TheCheshireGrins - I'm making a pot of green tea right now.
@Wangium - soups with bits of veggies, chicken, macaroni, congee, stuff like that.
@arenadi - maybe you should flush out your sinus.
I am a terrible person to be around when I am ill and a cold is worse of all!!
i hate how colds and flus just spread so insidiously throughout everyone (particuarly when air conditioning is involved and the germs just keep circulating over and over...). i'm so thankful i got my flu shot -- all i got so far is a very mild flu!
The "sick person" food always looks better because we know it has been prepared with some special attention, and what child doesn't want to be at the center of their mother's attention even if the price of that attention is being ill. I hope you get better soon. I've been crossing my fingers that I stay healthy on this trip.
I justs want someone to cook me meals >.
Feel better, sir.
@Fatcat723 - I don't like being pampered when I'm sick... it's a bit odd.
@kunhuo42 - I did go out for a nice long walk and got a good dose of fresh air off the lake. I hope this cold will be gone soon.
@christao408 - I'll keep my fingers crossed too. Where in the US are you visiting?
@injectedwords - thank you Colin.
Big hugs for all you suffering out there in blogland. Hope you all recover soon.
I wrote a blog a week or so ago about a visit to my doctors surgery to see the Asthma Nurse, who was clearly full of cold ! Considering she was dealing with people who are most vulnerable to the effects of catching colds and flu, why on earth was she there ! ? I decided that if I ended up with her cold - I would save up all the symptoms and give them back to her 'With Interest Added' on my next visit which is next week.
haha... that's a nice reflection on what your mum said. it's the same here.. but that feels like ages ago. now when we're sick, mum just treats us 190% nice and it IS really comforting.
@ElusiveWords - Matt, I'm barnstorming as usual. Sitting in the lounge at Taipei waiting for the connection to Los Angeles. Will meet Tawn there as he's flying directly from BKK. We'll overnight in LA to see my cousins then fly up to SF Thursday morning. Thursday evening is the opening night of the SF Int'l Asian American Film Festival - the director is a dear friend and he's retiring from the festival this year so we have to be there to see him off. Friday night is dinner with Jason and his partner. See the family and more friends over the weekend. Monday late morning we fly to Kansas City for a week visiting family. Monday the 22nd we continue to New York for three and a half days. Friday the 26th we fly out to LA to have tea or an early dinner with Gary and W. Tawn flies out that evening, I spend the night and then fly out Saturday afternoon, spending two nights in Taipei visiting friends before arriving back in Bangkok the morning of the 30th.
Get better soon! I've been sick more from my job than I have been in the past. It must be everyone who is coming to work while sick.
hohohoo... make herbal soup once a while matt... it helps!!! =p
