A Cold Day
I got an email today. The email pretty well said if she didn't respond to chemo, she'll have 4 to 6 months max. I had no reaction, I just acknowledged it as if it was just another email.
Later on in the afternoon, I got a phone call. It was one of these phone calls from her - convoluted in logic.
Her: "I'm calling to let you know the funeral will be later this week."
Me: "Whose funeral?"
Her: "What do you mean whose funeral?"
Me (thinking this is about the person in the email) "What are you talking about?"
Her: "The son of xxxx, he passed away in his sleep."
Me: "ok, thanks." I hang up.I can be a cold, emotionless, SOB if I have to.
Yeah, it's another cryptic entry.

Meh?
@yang1815 - I'm ok...
Quite cryptic indeed. Hmm...
Sounds like an entry to a novel you are going to write?
There are times when I receive email of the same sort. I too respond with less or no emotion at all. As to this chemo thing, I've known a lot who after sometime just bade the world farewell. This is a cold day indeed.
@Roadlesstaken - I think I'm self censoring even though I blog anonymously.
@CurryPuffy - nah, just my way of coping. I'm ok though ...
Glad you're OK!
cryptic indeed
You can be a cold, emotionless SOB if you have to?
It is needed sometimes. Glad you are ok.
You are cryptic for sure! I feel each person copes in his own way. I need give the person room and space and not expect his response to be the same as mine.
*scratches head* i'm confused...
You need to chill.
It's your blog, no need to be explicit
I thank you for your honest blogs Matt,,
I think it helps all of us feel less alone in our own thoughts
at times. Don't ever feel you can't share your true self here.
If not here, annonymoulsy, where?

All of us have the potential to be a cold, heartless SOB if we have to.
If it's a cold day, bring a sweater.
You need a vacation Matt. Come to Quincy for a few days. I am serious.
I have a "cold" day in Houston today. when I was at the gas station, a well fed lady asked me for money, I ignored her, hehe.
Sorry to hear that.
it may still be in early 2010 but death is all around us already. hope you were not close to the person whose funeral you'll be attending.
yeah scream out loud... anyway it's a real cold day here in germany... almost 5'C (the lowest) here last week was about 22'C highest!!
Sometimes coldness is a way of coping.
D:
hope ur okaythings like these happen :C
@CurryPuffy - no... just venting a bit.
@CareyGLY - sometimes I have to get these thoughts out of my head so I can sleep. The trouble is everyone is trying to figure out what the heck is going on with me.
@tsotofu - yeah... the perils of being a bit paranoid I guess.
@christao408 - uhm... need to?
@Dezinerdreams - thanks, I'm not like this all the time.
@Fatcat723 - yeah, it was a bit of a rough day.
@kunhuo42 - I'm ok, just venting after a bad day.
@oxyGENE_08 - yeah, I think I do.
@Wangium - it sort of leaves everyone scratching their heads though.
@bleuzeus - blogging anonymously elsewhere has it's appeal. I'm not sure I want to start another blog though.
@nutz4walnuts - yeah - just one of those days where life sort of throws you a curve ball.
@secade - I need some warmth in my life.
@ZSA_MD - I'll be ok - thanks. It was just a bad day.
@stevew918 - awww.... when are you heading home?
@lights_maybe - thank you, appreciate it.
@rudyhou - I wasn't close to that person.
@lcfu - I have a dark side (like everyone else I suppose...). I'm sure I would have the same reaction if you posted something similar. Your posts are usually quite cheery.
@TheCheshireGrins - sigh - sad but true.
@Yamashow - I feel better now, thank you.
Do you know this son?
@mmmagination - not really, I know the parents but not that well.
To my own mind all things you reply looks like correct
