It's been awhile since I've played with my camera. I'm glad I still remember how to turn it on! Some of these photos were taken about 4 to 6 weeks ago.
The first 2 pictures are from Fort York. I was walking to the lake and made a detour. They were closing but I got a couple of pictures. This is from one of the doors. I like the graininess of the wood and the rusted metal.
Someone left these mitts behind. They looked kinda lonely.
I saw her hop on the fence and started to walk on it like a squirrel.
And finally, some food pics. I've been trying to get some more healthy food in me.
This is whole wheat pasta, with tomato sauce, shrimp and basil. I had some left over spinach
so I tossed them in too.
I've also been eating quinoa lately to replace rice. It's not the same but there is a satisfying
feel to it. I sauteed some shrimp along with onions, a left over yellow pepper, green onions,
celery and tomatoes. I added the quinoa and tossed them gently.
In my second helping, I had some leftover tomato paste so I added that too.
Ok - back to my "homework".

Cool. Now, where's the picture of you??
@Roadlesstaken - picture of me? hahaha.... my long time subscribers have always wondered about that too.
nice to see soe pics. And I love quinoa....Im going to have to try that dish.
@ElusiveWords - I know, it's worth the shot.
LOL. Crazy squirrel lady!
Wow...those looks delish!
I LOVED the pictures of the door and the mits. The lady on the fence, jeez, that should go in National Geographic.
I have never heard of Quinoa Matt. What is it and where can I find it? Is it like pasta or more proteinaceous thing? love the pictures of the food.
@tsotofu - I just know if I try that I would fall with the fence between my legs.
@oxyGENE_08 - thank you, the whole wheat pasta was ok. It's not easy getting used to it.
@ZSA_MD - here's a link from the NY Times: http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/health/series/recipes_for_health/quinoa/index.html?scp=1&sq=quinoa&st=cse it is somewhat like couscous but with a slight crunch.
@ElusiveWords - *ouch* !!
I like the mittens photo too...very cool
I LOVE those first two shots -- the ones of the door!
great shots and I love the photos of the doot. it looks well made. How far did that gal walk that fence like a squirrel?
really nice shots!!! hope you play with your camera more often ...
love the squirrel pic!
Nice photos, Matt. The gate has some really nice textures to it.
I keep quinoa on hand and love using it for salads. Very healthy. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find it here in Thailand so have to buy it overseas. The closest I've found it is in Hong Kong.
You do have a eye for photos. The grain in the wood contrasted with the rusting iron is great. The flowers a lovely and the food - yummy! I think I might have the photo of the mittens framed for hanging.
Thats something like parkour, that person walking on the fence. Really fascinating to see
I'm not sure that I've really seen a lot of your photos before. That pasta looks so good!
Love that first pic. Great textures, shadows and RUST! I love rust....yeah....I know!
yummmm
That lady is so weird.
I heart quinoa. I should also replace my rice with it, except that it's pretty pricey compared to rice. I made "fried rice" with leftover quinoa once and it was pretty good, just in case you ever have any left overs.
@CareyGLY - there were a lot of folks walking in the park that day. I always feel they are staring at me when I take pictures like those.
@slmret - thank you, I wish the sun was a bit lower on the horizon and gave the doors a bit more of a warmer feel.
@styx_site - she walked a few steps, would pause, hop down and get back up for a few more steps.
@windupherskirt - thank you, I should play with my camera more often. I just got to find some more free time.
@tomatoboi - thanks... I can picture you doing that too.
@christao408 - thank you, I wish I had a macro lens and take some really close ups shots of those bolts and nails. As for quinoa, I never thought I would like this grain but it seems to be a very good alternative to rice.
@Fatcat723 - it's been awhile since I've taken some pictures. I had to try and remember some of the controls on my camera. I appreciate your generous comments.
@filmtub - I wonder if that what she is training for? Interesting thought... thank you.
@TheCheshireGrins - it's actually a grain, kinda like couscous and barley combination.
@Neeka1 - hahaha... I like those rough textures too. Thank you for dropping by.
@brooklyn2028 - I purchased a small box but didn't really pay attention to the price. I'll have to go back to that organic store and see what else they have.
@maniacsicko - thank you.
@ElusiveWords -
I'm sure I wouldn't be able to do that even though I'm light as a feather... lol
I can definitely get blown away by strong winds but not jump on a fence and walk like a squirrel! XD
nice photos! everyone always takes better photos than me haha... the food looks pretty delich (however you spell the slang short term for delicious) om nom nom nom...
@ElusiveWords - Looks like it couldn't have been too much lower! They have some great shadows, and the lighting picks up the grain of the wood nicely!
You should play with your camera more often! Pictures are great! I wrote a new movie review so if you're interested come tell me how you like it
Yummy food pics!
Flowers
@christao408 - I know what to bring you next time when I see you! Haha~
I like the details you shot on the wood grain. The nuts and bolts have a different pattern of their own too.
Yay Matt's photo blog!!!
Quinoa looks good.
I don't like whole wheat pasta
They taste starchy and powdery
that's more i like it
now i'm craving shrimps for later.
I've never had quinoa, but I've been curious to try it.
WOAH WOAH
those dishes look DELICIOUS!did u make them urself? :Oand what was that woman doing on the fence? O_O
@mmmagination - it's been awhile since I've posted some food pics. Most of what I have been cooking lately is "ordinary".
@secade - I love flowers that show up in spring time - from daffodils to tulips.
@CurryPuffy - thanks Gary, I sort of wish the lighting was just a bit warmer.
@yang1815 - it's nothing like Andy's photoblog.
@Wangium - I still haven't gotten used to the taste of whole wheat pasta. I boil it just a bit longer than regular pasta.
@Renatojr3 - lol.... I'll have to do some more cooking.
@JL789 - I was pleasantly surprised how well it tasted and enjoyed the texture too.
@Yamashow - hahaha... yes, I did cook those dishes. As for that woman, she hopped on to the fence and walk on all fours like a cat or a squirrel.
@ElusiveWords - Yours would be the best when you post a photo of yourself!
@yang1815 - remember - Chinese Charlie Brown... that's me.
@ElusiveWords - You always wear yellow?
giant squirrel?? lol
I love the pictures at the fort,, very cool
i'm a big fan of weathered wood and all things old.
