lazy entry
Well, it looks like we can upload photos again. These are just some pics I uploaded to test how fast the new servers are. They do seem a bit faster although this is just based on perception not science.
At least once a week, I get stopped on the way to work or on the way home
by commuter trains. The only time is when I come home really late
and the trains aren't that frequent.
I like watching planes - even turboprops. It's a bit of a walk to the
lakefront to watch the planes come in to the Billy Bishop Toronto City Centre Airport.
There aren't any jets, just small propeller planes and commuter
planes like this one. I have flown on these a couple of times
and it's actually quite good.

I didn't know where you lived and thought maybe, from the looks of the commuter train pic, it was somewhere European. So those trains are in Toronto? Wow. One of my favorite parts of Toronto when I visited a long time ago was the zoo! It was impressive.
Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing them here. I may not get to your place, but I do, virtually.
If that's how you see the world you should invest in some eye correction! =P
@heart_beep - yes, I'm in Toronto.
@Norcani - thank you, they were just some randomly chosen pictures.
@Roadlesstaken - hahaha... I think you're right.
The cars, the plane, the sun through the blinds, show serenity. The last frame? I'll agree with you, because that is also how I see the world. Again, thanks for sharing the photos. This is not a lazy entry after all.
Such a nice easy lazy entry Matt. Love all the pictures.
Nice shots! I love the blinds pic and yo I also love looking at planes plus airports are my thing! haha
A fun series of shots! The train looks like a green/white version of our blue/white commuter trains.
Great Shots! The last picture means you need glasses or the camera out of focus? Almost seem like Christmas light effect.
oh, you've taken Porter before? I'd like to fly with them someday~
I'm too young to know this, did Air Canada ever fly jets from that airport?
(not that I'm saying you're old, but I'm sure you'd know more than me)
I guess jets would need a longer runway for landing...
You see the world all sparkly? Ah, I knew it...
@tomatoboi - As near as I know, commercial jets have not been used at the airport. At 4,000 feet the main runway is too short to handle them.
I see the world in the same fashion.
Love the blinds, so simple but says
a lot about you Matt.
*~matthew~*
I love the last two shots- very impressive.
those trains look really funky. the ones we have here are mainly silver with a bit of yellow.
i like your blinds shot, as well as your sparkly one. nice post
Blurry fury jetplanes and blind commuter trains
I like the last one.....try not to see the world too clearly sometimes......it might be more beautiful that way......
I like the last two
What is the last shot a picture of?
HOLY CRAP! Are you seriously south of those train tracks! I knew you were close but THAT close?
@brooklyn2028 - oh no... but when I drive to work, (yes ... drive, sigh) I take that street and make my way to the highway. I'm actually north of you. Now that the farmer's market has started, I'll be there most Sundays (but I'm a fast shopper... hee hee).
@Norcani - oh thank you, you always seem to like my lazy entries.
@ZSA_MD - I guess this is my version of poetry. Thank you for recommending.
@oxyGENE_08 - I could watch airplanes take off, land and taxi all day (and night).
@slmret - I guess this is a popular model for commuter trains. I will have to dig up some more pictures from my sparse collection.
@stevew918 - thanks Steve. The last picture is actually a chandelier. I took it out of focus ... and wished I remembered to open up the aperture.
@tomatoboi - not commercial jets - I don't think I've even seen small private jets. There are always people (rightfully so) complaining about noise. If you lived on the Islands or by Bathurst / Queens Quay or even along the approach way out in Etobicoke - you can hear the planes. There's an air ambulance service (helicopter) that is pretty loud. I hear them when they fly over my condo (whoop whoop). Next time you head into Chicago, try Porter Air - it's a very short line up since the terminal is only for them. I show up 30 minutes before my flight and can still make it to my plane.
@christao408 - my out of focus, fuzzy, rose colored glasses....
@bleuzeus - oh thank you, that's very kind of you to say that.
@Dezinerdreams - thank you, appreciate the compliment.
@secade - but the pics of those cute Korean boys and the guy in the Oakland A's cap are better.
@agmhkg - hahaha... I'm a bit weird that way.
@Senlin - it's actually a chandelier.
are you from toronto? at my old company, our office was by the airport. so i'd drive to the edge of the runway and watch the planes land during my lunch hour... many times there would be huge jumbo jets screaming past small personal prop planes...
@tsotofu - yes I'm in Toronto. I've always been curious what you (job wise).
Is this what you call a lazy entry?
This is a beauty.
@ElusiveWords - Hahaha, I'll try to get some more of all of them and get them up on here as soon as possible. The Oakland A's boy is a chinese fella studying here, and he's pretty dang awesome.
@ElusiveWords - You do know my comment was something I consider very positive? I hope you didn't take it the wrong way...
can't find your glasses I see. haha jk.
interesting photos.
@UnpredictableIdentity - oh thank you, lazy as in I didn't have to do a lot of writing.
@bleuzeus - why yes, I didn't take it the other way (my inflated ego prevents me from doing that).
@yang1815 - did you hide it from me?
@Tallman - thanks you.
@ElusiveWords - You gotta come get it.
I love, love, love the bottom picture!
I love GO trains
Hope they extend them to Waterloo soon, even though I'm not going to have a chance to use them really. I've only heard good things about Porter, been meaning to fly them, but haven't had the chance to. Good to see that another Xangan is so nearby (: We could probably do lunch or organize a meeting someday
@AzureRecollections - I sometimes take the ViaRail to Ottawa. It's a bit of a long ride but it's decent.
@TheCheshireGrins - thank you, glad you liked it.
@ElusiveWords - You're really trying to avoid me aren't you! I still remember the time you saw me at Will's CD release and didn't say 'hi'! One day, one day I'll get you! Muahahahahaha!
not bad ya these pictures
@brooklyn2028 - hee hee... I do wander around the 'hood when it's nice out. In fact, I was at the farmers mkt again today and the Metro store afterwards.
@lcfu - thanks Fufu.
Wow...you live walking distance from the lakefront and airport!?
@CareyGLY - it's the small airport for small planes (single engine props and commuter planes)... while I love to watch those big jets come in and take off, I don't want to live near the airport.
