  • How was your day?

I went the entire day without smiling.   My entire conversation for the day was ordering a cup of coffee, a brownie and saying hi to the security guard.  I didn't have any meetings, no one called me and I didn't call anyone.

    How would I describe today?

    a)  A quiet day to get work done.
    b)  This is what it feels like to be marginalized.
    c)  I'm just having an emo moment and feeling sorry for myself.
    d)  This is what it's like to work at  home.
    e)  All of the above.

    So how was your day?

  • e?

my day, er evening, is just getting started...

  • @tsotofu - you work nights?

  • i had a quiet day at work today too.  had lunch at my desk..  i did interact with people, though, because we had a lab meeting...  but my boss wasn't in so there wasn't a lot for me to say or do.

  • @kunhuo42 - with all the traffic problems because of this G8 / G20, I don't dare drive for fear of getting caught in a traffic jam.  I think I'll be working from home tomorrow or heading to one of our satellite offices.  The isolation at home can be a bit stifling.

  • A quiet day at home for technicians to come figure out what's broken and what's not.

  • Don't you think it is better to work at home and not have to put up with the many faces at the office? More peace of mind I would think.

I had a good day, played tennis, watched the final set of the Isner / Mahut match which finally ended after three days with a  70/ 68 score. Went and had a Mediteranean dinner in a french restaurant with my husband. Every thing was going great until a few minutes ago, when I lost the whole dang interview I was doing for Aaliyan's blog. I am just growling now.

  • I had a non-eventful day. But I did talk to a few people, and got pissed off with the traffic in L.A. Seemed to me your day was better than mine!

  • I have a quiet day also, as I have been working from home, making up the questions for the mid-term coming up.  It is difficult to work with the World  Cup games on the TV.   I cheered and talked to myself in front of the TV a lot today, lol.

  • I'm not sure how you would describe it, but my vote goes for "C".

As for me, I caught some mysterious stomach bug and spent all day yesterday asleep in bed, feeling weak.  Bleh...

  • I was alone in the office for my day. So I got the office work done quickly. Had a cup of tea mid-workday and just relaxed. It was kinda nice.

  • @tsotofu - i thought you're a vampire too... xD night shifter!

anyway, my day...er night just started!

  • My day was fairly productive, an "a" I suppose. :) Volunteered in the morning, got a fair amount of work done at work (and nothing failed), went home and wasted some time (sigh), and finished my manuscript in the evening. Only got about 4.5 hours of sleep though. :(

  • Aww. You should smile at least once a day.

    btw hi,

    D

  • I got kind of drunk at an office party. While teaching a student. That student was the managers son. I did a shot with his mom, my head manager.

Korea is a weird country, Matt.

  • boring work day.  still stressful nonetheless

  • @tsotofu - am I guessing correctly that your username means smelly tofu?

  • @yang1815 - I hope you don't run into too much trouble with your insurance company.

@ZSA_MD - I live in a somewhat noisy environment.  Even when I shut the windows, I can still hear the street noise.  Sometimes I can get a fair bit of work done but that doesn't happen too often.  I'm also tempted to do other things too.  I'm glad you had a good day (aside from that computer glitch).  And that marathon tennis match - I don't know how I would have found the energy to keep going.

@CurryPuffy - traffic woes, yeah - I get those here too.

@stevew918 - I can't see the TV from my desk even though it's about 5 feet away.  I am sure your powers of concentration will guide you through the World Cup.

@christao408 - stomach bugs... ugh.  I get those too but I think they are stress related.

@Fatcat723 - ahh... that sounds like the kind of day I wanted to have.

@Senlin - I hope you get some quality sleep soon.

    @SassWithClass - I'll try.

    @secade - that sounds surreal.

@alchemystfury - boring & stressful.  It sounds like an oxymoron but I think I understand what you mean.

  • If your answer was E then I feel you.  Sometimes more social interaction is the medicine to take.

  • @ElusiveWords - Yeah let's hope so.  Thanks M.

  • Good thing you didn't try to go to the mall!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilPXMWSEYdM
