Heading home
I could have skipped my morning coffee. The taxi driver who took me from my hotel to the office, did a turn through a one way street & zipped past 2 lights as they were turning yellow to red. When he finally stopped at a red light several blocks down, he put on his glasses.
These short business trips are tiring. Inevitably you try to jam everything into a compressed time frame. My colleagues here have a great sense of humour and they even treated me to lunch. The hotel wasn't anything fancy but the room was clean. The bathroom was tiny and functional. I wish they didn't have a mirror that ran the length of the bathroom. I don't like seeing my nakedness when I exit the shower.
The lounge at the airport is decent (courtesy of Porter Air) although the free wireless at the airport here is slow. Oh well, but at least I got a seat in the lounge by the window. I've fueled up on cold medication. I'm tired and sleepy. I hope I don't miss the boarding call.

So when are you coming to LA?
Sleep well!
@CareyGLY - hahaha... not in the near future. My division doesn't have any clients out your way.
@yang1815 - I hope I will. Thanks Andy.
Flying into Toronto City Centre airport must be nicer than flying into Pearson, right? Better view, more convenient?
@christao408 - The airport is just a quick taxi ride from my place (less than 10 minutes) and I can check in 30 mins before departure. The lounge is quite nice - newly renovated, with comfortable chairs and Macs. It is very convenient for me. They're opening it up to Air Canada next year I think. So it's gonna be pretty busy (and noisy) when that happens.
Somehow that brings back memories of past business trip I had ot make>
oh no, hopefully you are not too sick! at least with a short trip you can get home sooner, although i know it seems like more of a hassle because the turnaround time is so short. well, get some sleep!
Taxi drivers usually scare the wits out of me (what little wits I have).
I hope you have some down time Matt, to rest, to calm your spirit.
Be well, *~matthew~*
@ElusiveWords - With Macs! That's nice! Most lounges here in the U.S. hubs just have pcs and they were all used and abused.
@Fatcat723 - maybe we had the same cab driver.
@kunhuo42 - it's been weird. I seem to be sick one day and well the next.
@bleuzeus - this cab driver really made me nervous. Then there was the other driver who kept to the speed limit and I was running late (grr....).
@CurryPuffy - Porter Air is a bit different I think. They even have free liquor on the evening flights (wine / beer). On my way to pick up my luggage at Toronto, I even saw Glenfiddich having a tasting session for the Scotch for the folks departing (sadly nothing for arrivals).
I love Porter!!! I flew with them once and they served me so much wine on my flight to Quebec City...couldn't ask for better service!
And I'll bet Air Canada f*cks up the airport next year...
