  • Rage...

    I must be keeping a lot of things inside me.  As I was driving today, I almost lost it.  I was trying to merge into the highway and some idiot sped up and I drove on the shoulder.  I honked and was rewarded with a finger.  I felt nothing but anger and in my mind, he was the cause of all my problems.  I didn't even notice if there were any other cars around.  I quickly caught up to him and did some stuff I shouldn't have done.  Luckily he peeled off to an exit and I headed to the main highway.

    After that I took some deep breaths and regained my sanity.  I think I need to meditate.

  • What a dickhead.

    You did the right thing Matty!

  • Easy, there!!!

  • Jerks on the road can be really annoying, I feel like killing them sometimes - but that's just for a moment. lol

  • ugh, road rage is the worst.  even i get a case of it at times; i think we're more susceptible to it because driving (particularly merging onto highways) is a high-risk situation that already has us tense.  i guess the best attitude is to brush it off, but it's not so easy sometimes.

  • Yes take a deep breadth! Thank goodness he didn't retaliate back.

  • you and me both.  meditating, that is.  you know what, Matt?  it's all about timing.  maybe you were having THAT kind of a day and this A-hole was just asking for it.  totally and utterly justifiable, if you ask me!  if he caught you on a different day, you might have reacted differently.  but he didn't.  so F him!  yep, i had a similar day too. =)  hang in there.  i'm thinking about busting out my p90x yoga dvd in a minute. -carolyn

  • Be careful Mattie. Let the idiots do their thing. They are supposed to do idiotic things like that. At this time, take control of your anger. I bet that guy pee'd in his pants when he saw you coming after him, and I am sure he will never do such an idiotic thing again.

  • I rage like that too at times.  I'm sometime tempted to bring my laser pointer in my car so when someone does that to me I shoot the laser to blind them.  Of course, I then think about the possible consequences and decide against it haha.

  • @yang1815 - oh Andy... we both know 2 wrongs don't make a right.  A lapse in judgment.... sigh.  Sometime these moods just get the better of me.

    @slmret - I will have to count to 10 next time.

    @carpe_diem99 - yeah, usually I just let it go but that day I just lost it for a split second.

    @kunhuo42 - maybe I should take up running again.  You've always struck me as someone who controls his emotions very well.

    @tsotofu - I wonder if you can write an entry using only emoticons.

    @Mal_P - several deep breaths... and count to 10 too!

    @caki730 - P90X yoga?  That sounds interesting and very demanding.

    @ZSA_MD - I should just let it go ... I wasn't having a great day and should realize that I'm more susceptible to these things during those kind of days.

    @Roadlesstaken - I want a big laser gun... not just a pointer.

  • man, i know the feeling. some people are truly truly bad drivers and they don't know what kind of harm they're doing to other motorists.

  • ?: > :) & :0) = :D == >=[ &>={D :0|

  • @ElusiveWords - That makes two of us!

  • the merge lane must always "yield" regardless, or you go into the shoulder. noobsters..

  • Sounds like you're stressed =(

    Massage or vacation time?

  • @Devilzgaysianboi - yeah, I'm pretty stressed out some days.

  • @ThePrince - some days it's just like a video game out there.   What bugs me is that it's a short merging lane and he sped up to prevent me from merging in.  He could have easily moved over and swing back again.  Grr...
