Recovering and Reality TV
I'm pretty well over my cold except for some coughing. I have this odd ritual of washing all my clothes, bedsheets, towels etc... once I'm getting over an illness. I also wipe down door knobs, light switches, faucets, washroom with one of those Lysol wipes. One thing I did while I was sick was I watched a lot of TV. It has a hold on me that I can describe. I normally don't watch a lot of TV. But I think I've seen some really awful stuff this past week. Even then, I still had to struggle with myself to turn off the tube. I swear, that thing has an evil spell. It's a 10 year old TV. Eventually I'll get once of those HDTV but for now, I'm just going to hold on. I don't have a need for it yet.
One thing I wished that was on TV while I was sick is a Xanga reality TV channel. I would just hop on different channels and watch you as you go about your day while a camera crew discreetly tagging along. Then I can figure out how Alex can keep up with his blog while working (I think he outsources it to his brother). Maybe I can figure out how Chris cooks and bakes so much. What secrets does he keep in his cupboards? Instant noodles? Kraft macaroni and cheese? Maybe we can have some of Xanga's more anonymous characters like ThePrince on our reality channel. I'm sure his face will be blurred / masked or in some silhouette as he goes about his life. Or how about those Xangans that travel like Steve? What does he really do? How about Xangans that eat well like Andy and Gary. Do they ever eat local foods... perhaps at their local McDonald's?
And for those Xangans in a relationship. What is it like? Are there arguments? What do they talk about? How do they kiss and make up?
I think my life is boring compared to yours. If a camera crew was following me, they would be snoozing away because of the inactivity. I can just see them chatting amongst themselves. "This guy doesn't do anything. Why do people subscribe to him? I thought he cooks. But look at the take out containers in his fridge." Busted....

LOL - loved the post. I goto hooked on some shows - Top Chefs for one. I guess it is a combination go the food and the competition. And some cute looking cooks
. Don't send the cameras to follow me around. By noon they would be asleep!
Hahahaha I think if a camera crew followed me around, they'd be bored as well.
@Fatcat723 - at least your crew will last till noon. Top Chefs is interesting but I sometimes feel the judges are a bit too harsh.
@supanamja - really? *raises eyebrows* My only hope is that they will be able to edit one month's worth of activity into 1 hour so it looks as if my life is interesting.
@ElusiveWords - Why the raised eyebrows? Does my life come across as more exciting? I spend a LOT of time alone man.
Since I mostly work from home, it's not too hard for me to keep on on blogs and comments. However, I do get busy at times where it's hard for me to have time to write a proper post. That's part of the reason why I usually update no more than 2-3 times a week.
Anyway, I don't think a camera crew should be following me. I do a lot of illegal stuff, things that people can't even describe on the news.
Oh, Matt - your life is just as interesting or boring as anyone else's. Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Glad you are feeling better Matt.
I loved this post of yours. What a clever thought to put in words. I would love to see what you look like. I am sure your life, like Chris above says, is just as fascinating as the second person.
i wouldn't want a camera crew following me around... they'd discover how much i procrastinate!
i'm sure your life is a lot more interesting than you make it sound... you do cook a lot of good food, and with all the time you spend observing other people i'm sure you are a very insightful and interesting person.
lol elusivewords reality shows
Happy new year 2011 bro. Sorry for inactivity in my xanga. I will try to update whenever i can.
Stranger things have happened!
you life will always be more interesting than mine, matt. honestly. glad to know you are getting better. i've got the coughs too. it's my turn now
O no need for HDTV yet? Perhaps it's one of those once you have it you can't go back to the old days thing.
Of course I eat locally. I cook often, but most of the time just simple stuff. I also eat fast food once in awhile. Fried chicken especially hehe... And the MickeyD's Angus burger wraps are fantastic!!!
Don't be silly. Nothing wrong with a smooth life. It's not boring. The ups and downs may be somewhat exciting but in comparison not as stable, right?
Hey, I'd tune in
I think my channel would be rated 'Adult-only', sigh.
@Roadlesstaken - it's tough for me to work from home, I have to be very disciplined with my time and avoid all those distractions.
@christao408 - oh there are days when I think a sloth has a more interesting life than I do. hahahaha...
@ZSA_MD - I look like a Chinese Charlie Brown with a very quiet life. Zzzzz.... I'm glad you're feeling better and getting up and around (at least on Xanga).
@kunhuo42 - thanks for the compliments Aaron. I don't think your procrastination is on the same level as mine. I think yours is measured in minutes, mine are measured in days or weeks. I mean, you're very successful academically right?
@vsan79 - hey bro, glad to see you back again! Have a great 2011. I hope things are going well in your new job.
@CareyGLY - CareyTV! hahahaha....
@rudyhou - oh gosh, I hope you'll be able to shake the bug off relatively quickly. Lots of ginger, liquids and rest...
@yang1815 - lcd, plasma, led... refresh rate, 1080p, blue ray, it's so confusing.
@TheCheshireGrins - it only has appeal for insomniacs... hahaha
@secade - adult only? ^ ^ This should be more interesting than mine.
@ElusiveWords - Not really.
that's a really neat idea to have a xanga channel! xanga should really think about doing such a thing!
@onmovement - it'll be interesting to tune in on you to see how you compose a song.
I agree with Aaron; I think you are (and would be, in person) very insightful and observant, and interesting in your own way. As for me, I wouldn't want the world to find out about my guilty pleasures/gluttony/sloth
Maybe you can be on one of those reality shows where they trick you and make a fool of you lol You always put yourself down! All in good humour, though
@Senlin - yes, we want to know all about your guilty pleasures. hee hee.... But seriously, thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it very much.
@stepaside_loser - it won't take a lot of work to trick and fool me. hahahaha....
I love your idea.. I do wonder about the day to day lives
of those that I read of here in our little blog community.
Some more then others obviously... you being someone
I'm very curious about. And I doubt your life is as mundane
as you make it out to be.. infact I'd bet money that it's not.
Be well, I hope you're fully recovered now.
