  • Xanga themes

These Xanga themes are getting to be annoying.  I see all these white empty spaces but I can't make the text area go any wider.  Every theme that I've tried is like that.  Is it just a restriction within theme?  I can't even figure out how to have a simple layout anymore.  I like dark backgrounds with a lighter text so that it's easier on the eyes.  The pictures also tend to pop out a bit more.

With these themes, I can't even add a large picture.  Everything has to be small.  Oh well... I'm sure there are better things in life to worry about.

    Back to my reports ....

  • I like the older themes better. I was going to look at something new for my site but that will have to wait. I am going to bed - alone.

  • @Fatcat723 - I like the older layouts too.  If the new themes were just wider, I could live with it.

  • Why don't you make your own theme?

  • I think it's the other way around.. dark text over light background is good for the eyes, not light text over dark background... =/

your pictures actually show up better justified in your new themes, it always used to be messed up before (for me at least)

  • You have to tweak the theme using the editor but I agree its a pain in the butt...  If I get a chance, I'll take a look at the editor and try to point you in the right direction. :)

  • @Dezinerdreams - let's just say I'm technically challenged.

@tomatoboi - hmm... I've always had problems with my pictures.  It never messed it up before but now it takes so long to align them.

@brooklyn2028 - thank you.  I tried the editor too (width).  Maybe I have to sacrifice some chickens or goats.

  • I've stuck with the old format for exactly that reason.  At least you're using a good-sized type face.  Some bloggers combine the skinny column with even skinnier print.

  • @jojobaDESIGNS - I've been playing around with different fonts and size.  I don't want people to start squinting when they read.  I also like a clean background.  Some folks have a very cluttered background with small letters.  My poor eyes can't handle it.

  • @ElusiveWords - Same here!  I like to be able to read clearly without fighting my way through a busy background.  I like your format.

  • I had to play around with mine a lot to make it work.  You can try it if you want.
