Just Pondering
Do you ever have those days where you look back at your life and your accomplishments? Do you feel proud and satisfied? Or do you sort of just look away and wish you hadn’t done that?
I used to have dreams. I used to know what made me happy. Life was simpler back then. Life was easier.
I didn’t know it back then. I thought life was difficult. There aren’t a lot of tomorrows and next days left anymore.

I know the feeling, man. It keeps me up at night, literally.
Take cheer my friend, for when our tomorrow-words become far and few, it is not best to become blue, but we should think on what WILL be said, and not what has been, when we lay down our heads.
I used to lose a lot of sleep over this…
But then…I try really hard to recount my blessings. REALLY hard.
I find myself thinking about the past frequently. It is surprising to me that some event will send me back into the past and remembering the good and bad times. I think I prefer being here in the present. There are good times and bad times always but we can focus on the good times.
I keep trying NOT to look back, it doesn’t make for pleasant viewing.
I guess looking back at the past in moderation is fine. Like anything, there’s the good (smile) and the bad (lessons learned) … oh and the things we regret (not much to do about some of those).
Dwelling too much in something that’s in the past is not good, although I agree, life is was simpler but it’s not like one’s aware of that at the time!
I guess we all have that feeling. Don’t think too much about the past. Just try to make today the best it can be!
We all do that Matty.
Forget regret, or life is yours to miss. No day but today!
I tried not to think too much about this issue. Life is too short!
I think we all have coulda, shoulda , woulda moments but the thing is not to get stuck there my friend. Hope you have a beautiful day !
Hugs Matt…take some advice from someone older than you? Never look back. Look forward. Every moment you have a choice. Listen to your heart and will always know your way.
Cheer up, Matt. We all have up and down days, and that makes life interesting. Hug!
I look back on things constantly. But I always find comfort in just telling myself, “God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change.” I know it’s something from the Alcoholics Anonymous, but I just find power in that statement.
what’s this? you sound more down than usual. as if you’re about to disappear from the face of this earth. what’s up, bro?
hmmm rather unfortunate; this is the perspective of someone who’s treated life as a destination rather than a journey
Try listening to “My best days are ahead of me” a few times. I just passed another birthday. Dwelling on it doesn’t help. Take care.
All we have is today, b/c tommorow never comes. Carpe Diem
You have your entire life ahead of you, Matt. And every day that has passed is gone forever. Try to enjoy today and worry less about yesterday and tomorrow.
What do you mean not many tomorows left? Every today was a tomorrow yesterday. You have a lot ahead of you Mattie.
