What do you think about me?
There's this tough guy image I have always wanted to be. It's a combination the characters that Jason Statham plays, Jack Bauer and Jason Bourne with a bit of Jet Li thrown in too. But I think what I really portray in real life is this half nerd, half cartoon character who when surrounded by bad guys will say "I think we can think outside the box and come up with a win - win situation here. Let's put down those guns and have some dumplings."
I wonder what you folks think about me and who I am. I'm pretty well anonymous. I only show my good side here. You never get to see the complete picture. If you did, I'm convinced it won't take long for you to unsubscribe and move on. Some of you might even lock your doors, shut the windows and change your passwords. I'm not that bad. I haven't killed anyone or beat up anyone. I'm not a great photographer or writer. While I enjoy eating and know my way around the kitchen (it's easy when you have a small kitchen ... bad joke
) I'm not a gourmet chef. This tenuous connection of bits and bytes is the only way you folks know me and form an impression of me.
It would be interesting to have all of you in gathered in one room and compare your thoughts. Of course my ego is big. I'm assuming you won't mind traveling to some city at your expense, meeting up with other bloggers and spend a day talking about me. I would be there of course, taking notes here and there. If someone says something bad though, I just might turn into that tough guy I've always wanted to be. So if you get an invitation in the mail to talk about me, just say something nice.
Finally... I only wrote this entry because I couldn't upload a photo.

My perception is that you are guy that just wants to upload a photo.
Damned photo/video uploading growl~snarl~
i think you're a pretty cool person!
Oooh... Matt knows kung fu!!
Honestly, a photo wouldn't really show the type of guy you are. Let's do a win-win situation... let's gather in a room and talk over dumplings. I know a good xiao long bao place in SF.
I think you are the kind of person who I could hang out with in the evening, just chilling and cooking food and chatting with a few friends in someone's kitchen.
Interesting post, Matt. I really an open to who you are. I realize there is a little of you that is shared in each post. I don't know how long we have been sharing but what I know I like - I find you to be human! Hell, what more is there to be said. Meow
dumpings with poison laced leek & pork. smart
LOL. I think you're an awesome person and that we'd get along pretty well if we ever meet in person.
I was totally in your corner... You read me, you comment intelligently, and I like what you write...
But dumplings??????
Sorry man, you lost me on that one!!
I think that if I ever were to visit you in Canada, I would have a great time! But, you know- for some reason I am not able to form an image of you in my head- so you will forever be the the small red yacht till I meet you!
Haha... Xanga's problem is once again a magical cure to writer's block.
You had me at Jet Li man! I think you're pretty awesome. We all have our down times but that's no reason to rag on yourself. I look forward to eventually grabbing a drink with ya eventually. Here's to being awesome!
Upload a pic and I'll tell you if I'll sleep with you... LOL... If you really want to know (since all I show in my blog is my bad side), I think you're a nice guy and incredibly smart. I'll project even further and say that you're probably cuter than you think are you, which are the best types of guys. Lastly, I would probably want to date you except that I might hurt you - not that you wouldn't be able to take it
I wonder if my meanness is why no one bothers to read my blog... LOL...
So how long did it take you to find your way around the kitchen? And did you use a map the first few times? =P
Meeting with Xangans? Who do you think I am?!
@TheTheologiansCafe - hahaha.... that photo uploader better work or there will be more senseless entries such as this.
@BenelliMan - annoying... very annoying.
@ThePrince - thanks Michael (from one anonymous blogger to another).
@CurryPuffy - not really Gary, I can spell it ... that's about it.
@Devilzgaysianboi - oh yeah Kevin.. I love xiao long bao!
@arenadi - Mike - it would be fun to hang out with you in the kitchen.
@Fatcat723 - meow Rob! You still remember me from my original Onetonman days.
@alchemystfury - hahaha ... I'm not sure I'm that evil.
@oxyGENE_08 - aw thanks Gene... even if you are Nikon guy.
@Bricker59 - HAHAHAHA... I love dumplings, it's a nod to my Chinese heritage. I could have put beer instead.
@Dezinerdreams - ed note: that's what Matt really looks like.
@yang1815 - how true Andy. Hope you're doing well.
@bengozen - thank you Ben and welcome back again to Xanga.
@thetemptor - I don't know about the cute part. I have this fantasy of being a writer though and if I go down that path, I might do a story with someone like you as a character.
@christao408 - well Chris, I have GPS. I wish it would provide cooking instructions though. My small kitchen doesn't put out the masterpieces like your small kitchen though.
@Roadlesstaken - Alex - I think you're the Xangan who has met more Xangans than anyone I know.
I lol'd when I read about the dumplings.
Listen Matt, you have been wearing the ' burqa ' way too long now. It's time you showed your face to your fans. I have made the threat before, and I am a saying it again. I will come to Toronto and seek you out and take pictures with you, and put that photo on xanga.
RYC: thank you for that incredible compliment on my post.
I think it's interesting how we've shared a few personal things about each other here and there, over the years, yet if we find ourselves in the same place at the same time we'd totally miss each other. Before I die, I have to see a pic of you, Matt - do you promise? hahah
@ElusiveWords - LOL I know cos we ROCK.
@ZSA_MD - hahaha... with your new knees, I'm sure you will chase after me all over Toronto.
@stepaside_loser - we could be in the same place standing side by side and still miss each other - I never thought about that Andrew. Maybe our paths will cross someday.
@ElusiveWords - I prefer to be the protagonist!
eerr... sounds like you're talking about me. were u describing me? yeah, i think u were taking about me.
ps: glad you put 'dumplings' instead of 'beer'
by the way, what's with the jason-jack-jason-jet thing? u have a fetish for those with name starts with a J?
@ElusiveWords - You've just diverged from my questions, Matt! Lol. Yeah, OK, someday our paths may cross without us knowing. I'd like to see Canada some day, but not before I see a host of other countries first.............
who wouldn't love dumplings?
you are a loving, considerate, curious, interesting, interested, passionate, tender hearted, insightful, a bit artsy and more funny than you let on. though i've never met you and don't have a clue as to what you look like, i kinda feel like i've known you for a long time. i think we may be cut from the same cloth. if we lived in the same city, we'd definitely be good friends.
i love the idea of getting us all into one room...perhaps in google hangout? that should be interesting
@caki730 - thank you for that compliment - it is much appreciated. I have my grumpy side though....
@jace1982 - I think I would surprise you and others if you were to meet me. (Why Matt, you do have a big head!) I've never tried a Google video chat before or the Xanga Zombie chats that a few folks use.
