Anxious Moments
I ran out of soy milk and bread so I decided to walk to the supermarket. There's one that opens late in my neighbourhood although it's a bit of a walk if you're carrying a lot of groceries. But I needed some fresh air anyways so off I went. A certain Xangan also lives in my neighbourhood too although I've never seen him here. As I was in the veggie section I thought I saw him. But he turned away. A moment later, I saw a bit of him from the back and it looked like him! I froze. He and I tease each other about what I would do if I ran into him. I tried to figure out what to do. Should I just slowly walk away? Or just saunter up and say hi?
Before I could determine what to do, the guy turned towards me and it wasn't him after all. I was relieved at first but then laughed at how silly I was. It's tough being an anonymous blogger.
In other news, I had some work done on my teeth this week. I don't like needles in my mouth and I don't like the nerves in my teeth anywhere near a drill. The dentist could tell I was very nervous. The previous dentist (who sold the practice) actually would give me more freezing because I could always feel something. But I've never been with this dentist before. So I asked for an extra dose ("in fact, give me everything you got!"). She put some numbing gel in the back of my mouth. I swallowed some of it just before she said "Now try not to swallow the gel because your throat will be numb." I rolled my eyes. The needle didn't hurt that much and I could feel my mouth going numb. I had to get some cleaning done first before the real dental work. So the hygienist did her stuff and offered lots of helpful advice. The dentist came in and did her work. She kept checking to make sure I was fine. Finally she chuckled and said "I'm not normally nervous but seeing so nervous made me a bit tense." But she was very gentle and it was soon over. I told her it was the anticipation that was creating so much anxiety. I'm back in a few months for some other dental work. I think I should be fine. If any of you want to freak me out, just start chasing me with one of those dentist drills and go "weeeeeeeeeee".

stop being anon! i wanna see what you look like.
Yeah man, cut with the bull, fat boy. We all want to see what you look like. Lay it on the line.
hahahaha are you sure it wasn't the other xangan? does anybody on here know what you look like?
funny, when i was a kid i used to hate going to the dentist, but somewhere along the way i got used to it and now have no problems sitting for the dentist. not sure how i overcame that fear, but it sure makes life easier!
Don't fear - I am not sure anyone on here knows what you look like. Actually the only fear I have of the dentist is the bill! meow
No more anonymity! :P
Who this Xangan be?!
This reminds me that I need to go dentist - I haven't been to one in a long time - whoops. I'm actually not afraid of it, thankfully.
So, the other blogger knows how you look like, or do you know how he looks like? Assymetrical information?!
Have you ever read any of my posts on the visits to the dentist? OMG! I don't sleep the night prior to the appointment. I stop breathing when I am in that 'upside down' position, and he has to remind me every few minutes to resume my breathing. Honestly Matt, I hear the damn drill in my head for days after the visit.
I want to see you!
Come out come out, where ever you are!
Oh dear. Could that other Xangan be me? I don't want to cause you anxiety...
Btwm were you shopping at the new Loblaws? It's so nice inside there, eh!
@wutuwaitn4 - @The_Eyes_Of_A_Painter - I'll always be anonymous. hee hee...
@kunhuo42 - maybe it's because you're also in the medical field? But then again, Dr. Zakiah is a lot more anxious about this than I am. I've met a couple of Xangans already. But that was a long time ago.
@Fatcat723 - the bill is another big pain. My insurance doesn't cover everything but I'm glad it covers most of it.
@oxyGENE_08 - lots more anonymity! hahaha...
@Roadlesstaken - that would be Brooklyn2028 (see below).
@stepaside_loser - let me turn that drill on you....
@beowulf222 - I know what he looks like but he doesn't know what I look like.
@ZSA_MD - fortunately I'm not as anxious as you. Once it's over, I just take a deep breath and smile (as best as I can with a still frozen mouth).
@brooklyn2028 - hee hee... yep, it was you. I've been shopping at that Loblaws many times now and it is very nice inside. I was really surprised how spacious it is. I usually shop after dinner when it's not that crowded.
lol I always find myself in funky situations where I say hello to someone who I think is one of my friends, but end up just being a look alike- so I can relate XD Awkward turtle moment ^^;;
haha I hate dental work too. I had braces for 5 years (yes, 5...) and I had to go to the dentist monthly to do adjustments/check-ups etc and I totally get the jeepers when I'm in that chair XD
fillings or what?
If you're an anonymous blogger, how will this Xangan know what you look like? I'm sure you didn't send him secret pictures
Btw...if for some reason you ever move here and see me... you BETTER say hi (cause i wouldn't be able to)
WEEEEEEEEEEEE....
the market thing seems fun. i wish i have a xangan friend live close to me.
Hmmm, now I know what to do the next time I'm in Toronto.
A woman from xanga works at the grocery store right by my house and we always joke about running into each other but never do. I always feel like I have to make sure my hair is fixed before I go there.
@BlissfulRedemption - I've done that too. *sheepish look* Thank you for dropping in.
@life365days - Wow... 5 yrs. But I bet your teeth look great now. The chair is comfortable but when they start moving it up and down, my heart rate starts to beat a bit faster.
@yang1815 - repairing fillings and some cavities plus the usual cleaning.
@Devilzgaysianboi - he doesn't know what I look like but I know what he looks like. So he's always asked that I at least say hi to him if I see him. If I ever see you and say hi to you, I think you'll immediately ask me "How do I really know it's you and not some creepy stalker?" hee hee...
@rudyhou - I'll get you for this.
@secade - hahahaha... *puts on disguise*
@TheTheologiansCafe - I think you should wear a tshirt with your Xanga profile "picture" on it. I bet people will run up to you and yell "First!" or something like that...
@ElusiveWords - LOL LOL....
@ayu_motosan - combination of fun and anxiety I suppose. I hope there are friends / relative close by that can take the place of Xanga friends.
@brooklyn2028 - Well, the good news is that when Tawn and I finally make it to Toronto, we know where to hang out to run into you and Matt! LOL
@christao408 - I will be in hiding openly in Chinatown. Think of it as "camouflage". hahaha....
@christao408 - Well, if you do come to Toronto, you don't need to run into me. We can always just make plans. Now only if it were that easy to get Mattie out!
@brooklyn2028 - Certainly will do. Wouldn't be a trip to TO without a chance to finally meet friends face-to-face.
