  • Just a Thought

    Dear Lord,

I know you’re busy trying to heal the sick, eliminate poverty, stop wars and preventing humans from being the worst enemies to themselves.  Could you just squeeze in one more thing on your agenda?  If I could just ask you to get the crazy drivers off the road, I would be eternally grateful.  Yeah, I know I speed a bit here and there but for the most part, I am pretty careful.  But yesterday I drove behind the slowest BMW M3 driver in the world.  He almost succeeded in getting my blood pressure to a record high.  On the way home, I almost got clipped by a van.  The driver was on my left lane and I was in the middle lane.  But she was so nervous driving so close to the retaining wall that part of her van was in my lane.  When I honked at her, she decided to just dive into my lane instead.  Even F1 drivers have better road manners.  I honked loudly but refrain from saying any nasty words.

So if you could just throw some lightning bolts on those crazy drivers, that would make me real happy.

Finally, and I know I’m pushing my luck; if you could give the Xanga 2.0 fundraising a gentle nudge, that would be great.  A lot of folks would be happy.  You can even disregard my earlier plea about crazy drivers.  I’m willing to make a sacrifice.

    Matt

  • hahahaha. Well that slow M3 guy sure wasn’t me… I can barely stay within 50% of the speed limit most of the time (don’t tell anyone)And Xanga, I really don’t know Matt. The guy’s so lazy he didn’t even update the frigging FAQ after his radio interview with all that new information. You seriously think he’ll do a good job with the revamp on a new platform? I honestly doubt it.

  • Driving an M3 slowly? That’s a sin. That’s like buying a smart phone to only use the calculator.

  • @XtremePsionic - it took him ages just to get to 60 kph.  If you saw him, you would have ripped his head off.  @laytexduckie - I agree. I’m not asking him to go crazy.  But please, just get up to the speed limit faster.

  • Well, there’s always the hope someone answers your prayer(s).

  • @laytexduckie - Wait, you mean my iPhone has a calculator function? Sweet!

  • The Beemer guy was probably driving slow just so every one could gape at the car he owned! Glad you are asking Divine intervention for the Xanga launch. I thought only I was crazy here. hah1

  • Sounds like a day you had. Poor you. Oh, and the way to get your “requests” done by the boss … always be on good terms with the secretary.

  • You’re making a prayer a joke. Im offended. Not funny Go Away.

  • that was a very disrespectful prayer, Matt. mocking in a certain sense. better be careful about doing that, might ruin your communication channel. besides, who says xanga is something that God would want to preserve. it is vain, self-serving, highly perverse, criminally negligent for being obtuse to STD and HIV transmission, so, your little coy ploy might be nice for a boy toy, but for a man-to-God communication it is borderline obnoxious. It’s written as if you don’t really believe HE exists….

  • We often ask God to keep the crazy drivers far away from us.  I have also prayed for Xanga.

  • Here there is a new law –if in the fast lane (left lane) and not driving within 5 mph of the speed limit – you can get a ticket for holding up traffic.

  • i looked at two of the comments above me and i’m wondering if they’re just joking around – if not, that’s pretty sad. anyway, i drive my import pretty slow, but that’s because I’ve gotten to a point where I just don’t give a cotton-picking-f**k about anyone else. BUT! i drive on the RIGHT SIDE of the road, so people can pass me easier. if M3 was in the middle or left lane driving like that, then i hope he gets a pinworm infestation. and i also hope the best for xanga. last week, i was actually of the opinion it would shut down but now, i actually give it more than a 75% chance that it will survive. F**K YEAH, GOD IS AWESOME!!

  • Ha! I say AMEN! to your prayer!I used to do a lot of big city driving…now it’s mostly highway driving…but crazy drivers still be crazy! I hate when I’m already driving a bit over the speed limit and they ride my butt…then suddenly they swerve around me and race off…of course there they are at the red stop light as I pull up beside them. I usually look over, smile and wave at them I pray for Xangans…but I’ve never prayed for Xanga. I shall do that.HUGS!!!

  • @christao408 - I sure hope so!@ZSA_MD - I didn’t think about that, maybe you’re right.  I hope the Divine Intervention (although not a serious one) will help.  But some people here obviously were not amused with this entry.@beowulf222 - well, we did get an extension and an update from John.  @ata_grandma - I’m a lot more patient now than before especially with elderly drivers.  I understand them a lot better after seeing watching my dad drive (he stopped driving a few years ago).  @Fatcat723 - that’s a great law, I wish we had that here.@l0311879l - I don’t think they are joking…. sad. I guess my relationship w/ God is a bit more chummy.  What car are you driving?  @adamswomanback - thank you.  It does get a bit crazy & stressful driving in the city.  There are so many crazy drivers out there.

  • yeah seriously some of those people in a performance car probably only bought it because it was expensive.

  • I hate hate hate terrible drivers.

  • this is why i don’t drive.  too many crazy people on the road.  as for xanga 2.0, i’ll keep my fingers crossed for your prayer.
